Terms of Service
Effective: 2026-05-30 · Last updated: 2026-05-30
These are the rules for using snipecv. By signing in, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the service.
snipecv is a solo indie project. Contact: legal@snipecv.com
TL;DR
| Who owns your CV content? | You do. |
| Can the AI make stuff up? | Yes — check the diff before sending a tailored CV anywhere. |
| Refund policy | Unused credits, refundable within 14 days. |
| Account deletion | Any time. |
| Liability cap | What you paid us in the last 12 months, or USD 50, whichever is higher. |
1. What snipecv does
snipecv is a CV manager. You:
- Write a base CV in markdown
- Save it — every save becomes an immutable version
- Diff any two versions
- Tailor your CV for a specific job posting using AI
- Export any version to PDF
The product is in beta. Things will change. Expect rough edges.
2. Who can use it
You need to be at least 16 years old. By signing in, you confirm you are.
3. Your account
Sign-in is through Google, GitHub, or LinkedIn — no passwords here.
- You're responsible for keeping your OAuth account secure
- If you lose access to it, email us — we may be able to help, but no promises
- You can delete your snipecv account any time
4. Your content
You retain ownership of everything you create or paste:
- CVs and all their versions
- Job postings
- AI-tailored outputs
By using snipecv, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display your content solely to operate the features you're using. This license ends when you delete the content or your account.
We don't use your content to train AI models, sell to advertisers, or for any purpose beyond running the features you triggered.
5. AI tailoring
The Tailor feature runs your CV through an AI. The AI is useful, but it can make things up — invented skills, wrong dates, exaggerated accomplishments.
⚠️ Your responsibility: review every tailored CV before using it externally. That's why the diff view exists. Don't send AI-generated application material somewhere it's banned (some employers, schools, and job platforms forbid it).
Using snipecv does not guarantee interviews, offers, or any specific outcome.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, mirror, or extract data that isn't yours
- Bypass the credit or rate-limit system
- Impersonate someone else in a CV
- Submit content you don't own the rights to
- Send abusive or unlawful content via job postings
- Probe or attack the infrastructure
- Resell or sublicense the service without permission
We'll suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
7. Credits and payments
AI tailoring uses credits. Credits come in packs purchased via Polar.
| Transferable between accounts? | No |
| Expire while account is active? | No |
| Cash value outside snipecv? | None |
| Free credits for new accounts? | Yes |
| Who handles tax? | Polar |
The price you see at checkout is what you pay.
8. Refunds
We're chill about refunds.
| Situation | Outcome |
|---|---|
| Unused credit pack, within 14 days | Full refund |
| Credits already used on AI tailoring | Not refundable |
| EU consumer, started using credits | Withdrawal right waived (digital content delivered) |
How to request: email legal@snipecv.com with your Polar order info.
9. Uptime
We aim to keep snipecv up 24/7. We're one person — we can't promise it. Sometimes things break. We try to fix them fast. We're not liable for losses caused by downtime.
10. Ending things
You can stop using snipecv and delete your account any time.
We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or abuse the service:
| Reason for termination | Unused paid credits |
|---|---|
| You decide to leave | Refunded |
| We terminate for abuse, fraud, or rule-breaking | Not refunded |
| We terminate for non-abuse reasons | Refunded |
11. No warranty
snipecv is provided "as is." We don't promise it'll be:
- Uninterrupted or error-free
- Free of weird bugs or invented AI content
- A guarantee of job offers, interviews, or any specific outcome
It's a tool, not a guarantee.
12. Liability cap
If something goes wrong and you end up needing to hold us liable, the maximum we'd owe you is:
whatever you paid us in the previous 12 months, or USD 50 — whichever is higher.
We're not liable for indirect damages — lost profits, lost data, missed opportunities, that kind of thing.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these caps; where they don't, we limit to whatever the maximum allowable is.
13. You cover your side
If your content or your use of snipecv gets us in legal trouble — say, you uploaded content you didn't own, or submitted an AI-tailored CV somewhere that forbids it — you agree to cover us for that.
14. Changes to these terms
When these change meaningfully, we update the date at the top and tell you on next sign-in. Continued use after the change means you agree to the new version.
15. Disputes
Email us first —
legal@snipecv.com. Most things get sorted that way.
If we can't sort it informally, any legal claim is governed by the laws of the operator's place of residence. Nothing here limits any non-waivable consumer rights you have under your local law.
16. Severability
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
17. Contact
legal@snipecv.com for anything — questions, complaints, refunds, weird situations.
This reflects how snipecv actually operates. It's not legal advice. If you need a DPA, enterprise terms, or anything beyond what's here, please talk to us.
